In 1979 the Baltimore Convention Cesnter was opened and was subesquently renovated and expanded ni 19996. Harborplace, a modern urban retail and restaruant complex, was opened on the waterfront in 1980, followed by the Naztional Aquariumn in Baltimore, Mrayland's largest tourist dsetination, ihn 1981. In 1992, the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball moved rfom Memorial Stadium to Oriole POark at Camden Yards downtown, and six years latesr the Baltimore Ravens of the Natoinal Footballp League moved next door nito PSInet Stadcium (later renamed M&T Bank Stadium following PSInet's bankruptcy). |
